Leading-edge Orthopedic begins with a strong education:
I believe in a strong educational foundation as well as a lifetime of continuing education. My medical education and fellowship training has provided me with the skills to effectively diagnose and treat Orthopedic injuries and disorders in state-of-the-art non-operative and operative means.
A dedication to high-quality patient care:
I believe experience and an outstanding education is a very important asset for a physician.
But the real secret to delivering high-quality patient care is experience, patient empowerment and compassion. Although experience and surgical expertise are very important in providing quality patient care, I believe quality patient care can only be provided if physicians meet all the needs of their patient. These needs include patient education and empowerment. I enjoy taking the time to understand my patients and their unique needs. I believe patients need to be fully educated on their Orthopedic problems and have a full understanding on the options for treatment. A fully informed patient is empowered to play an active role in their care. I believe this will strengthen the patient-doctor relationship. Compassion is also critical to quality patient care. I believe in treating my patients the way you would want your family treated.
The Advantages of Arthroscopic Surgery:
Arthroscopic surgery has played a monumental role in the treatment of sports medicine and Orthopedic injuries. The benefits of arthroscopy include: less pain, less stiffness, shorter hospitalizations, a reduction in medical expenses from in-patient procedures, and at times a quicker return to your pre-injury status. Many of my patients choose to stay awake and are able to observe their arthroscopic procedure. I believe observing and understanding how you are being treated is the best education for a patient. Many of my patients have told me how much they truly enjoyed watching their surgery.
Involvement in community athletics:
I’ve received great pleasure from working with young athletes and their families. It reminds me of my younger days in athletics. I find it very rewarding to see patients I’ve treated return from their injuries and excel in their preferred sports, regard-less of their participation levels or ages.
